(More customer reviews)The title says it all - this fan (as well as another Panasonic fan in the same order) came with a 3" by 5" oval vent. WTF? It does NOT have a standard 3" round vent as both Panasonic and amazon claim. The instructions have some pictures of a unit with a round vent, and other pictures with the oval vent. I've installed quite a few bathroom fans, and NEVER seen one with an oval vent before. They must have a round version of this thing somewhere, but there's no indication on the outside of the box that this is a totally non-standard vent.
The instructions claim that the oval vent can be fitted to a 4" round pipe by squishing one end of the pipe into an oval shape. Maybe so, but the 4" pipe will never fit into a standard 2x4 stud wall (which Panasonic claims the fan is designed for), will never pass a building inspection, and won't fit the 3" vent pipe I that I bought the fan to fit. It's the most mickey-mouse thing I've even seen.
I'll never know how quiet this fan is, because I've contacted the vendor (the Price Pros) for a refund.
